The young talents of the marketing industry delighted the jury with their project "No cyclist ever" and earned a prestigious award at this year's Young Lions competition powered by Iskon, which this year as well as before aimed to highlight young Croatian talents, while pointing out the importance of sustainable mobility and quality of life.

The Young Lions is a competition in which a new generation of the national marketing industry is fighting for the title of the best young creatives. By winning the prestigious Grand Prix, young lions get an exceptional opportunity to compete with the best colleagues from around the world as representatives of Croatia at the global Cannes Young Lions competition - and the winners of this year's 24-hour competition challenge and new title holders are Dora Kasun and Valentina Mavretić from Señor agency!

We could say that after one sleepless night the dawn came twice. First time when we submitted a work with which we were pleased, and the second time when we got the news about the award. - Dora

As many as 74 competitors in teams worked on solutions in five competition categories: Design, Digital, PR, Media and Print. The winners in the Digital category are Bruno Bartolić and Rene Filipović (Convergent Media Group Croatia), in the Media category the winners were Ana-Marija Žarak and Ivana Kršić (Imago Ogilvy), while the Grand Prix winners are Dora Kasun and Valentina Mavretić (Señor) with their project "No cyclist ever” which is the winner of the Print category as well.

The finalists of this year's competition in the Digital category are Jerko Mihaljević and Adrian Rovina (404) and Maja Adžaga and Filip Vdović (Promosapiens); while the finalists of the PR category are Filip Latin and Mario Štrok (Imago Ogilvy).

The Young Lions competition lasted for 24 hours and it will take me at least as long to realize we won the Grand Prix. My favorite projects are socially responsible- then even a lack of sleep isn’t a problem. And as a young mother, I got used to not sleeping anyway. - Valentina

Along with the organizers of the competition, the winners and all the competitors were congratulated by Nikola Žinić (Bruketa & Žinić & Grey), president of this year's jury:

I am glad that my thesis that the best ideas come under pressure has been confirmed. The jury was faced with several great works. I would like to thank my colleagues from the jury for a very constructive discussion about each work. We have rewarded a work that is fresh, dynamic, that can work well on the street and that suits well with a given brief. It has a modular character, so its application is constantly on the move, just like cyclists. I thank all the contestants for their ideas. We set the criteria very high, so the status of a finalist is a great achievement in this competition. Congratulations to the awarded teams and I wish a lot of luck to the team from Señor at the Cannes competition. This is a unique opportunity to learn, show muscles and check where we are on the global map of young talent.

An important feature of the Young Lions competition powered by Iskon is the humanitarian cause - the client whose brief the competitors solve every year is a non-profit humanitarian organization or a civil society organization, to which the creative solutions of the competitors are provided. This year's partner of the competition, Iskon, and the organizer for the task have chosen to work for a solution for the Sindikat Biciklista, which has been advocating for sustainable mobility for 10 years by increasing the use of sustainable forms of movement such as cycling, hiking or public transport, while looking how the traffic affects the quality of life in the city (pollution, noise, traffic accidents, etc.).

Iva Pregernik Jungić, head of marketing communications at Iskon and a member of the Young Lions jury, said:

We love creative ideas, originality and extra effort, we love cyclists and urban culture so we are honored to be a part of this beautiful project and commendable competition. We appreciate the work of the Sindikat Biciklista, which with its efforts encourages better conditions for both cyclists and the city. We sincerely congratulate the team from Señor at the Grand Prix. Congratulations to all the other lions on their ideas and inspiration.

Tena Šarić Rukavina also joined in congratulating, as a representative of the Sindikat Biciklista: Thank to Iskon and HURA for choosing us as a client. We have always valued good solutions, ideas, design and PR and strived to spread our values and advocate for sustainable transport. We are also grateful because we are soon celebrating 10 years of work of the Sindikat Biciklista, so we can't wait to use some of the results.

In addition to the president of the jury Nikola Žinić, Iskon representative Iva Pregernik Jungić and client representative Tena Šarić Rukavina, for the selection of the est works of this year's competition were also responsible: Dunja Bua Maričević (Pragma komunikacije), Anamarija Juraković (Advans Adria), Alen Kekić (I to nije sve), Mario Lovrić (Studio Nexus), Fran Mubrin (404), Manuela Šola (Komunikacijski laboratorij) and Boris Zatezalo (Degordian).

Shutterstock also supported the competition by opening its base for competitors, and after an unforgettable competition experience among Croatian teams, the Grand Prix winners will compete with competitors from all over the world in the global online competition Cannes Young Lions in the second half of May.
